Medical interns usually learn about and discuss mental health promotion only during their psychiatry rotation. Their rotation in community medicine provides an opportunity for them to appreciate mental health as an integral component of overall health and understand the motto “mental health in all policies and initiatives.” A pre-deployment session to understand the topic helped medical interns expand their perspectives, spur them to action, and make them potential metal health advocates in the community.
